Scandinavian Roses update…..

DSCF9013

Going back through my blog I realised I haven’t shown a photo of this stitchery project since May……gives wrist a small tap and making tut, tut sounds!

DSCF9062

So this is where I’m at with this project, slowly but surely it’s getting stitched in-between my other crafty pursuits and work/home commitments but I am getting there! I’m hoping to get blocks 5 & 6 prepped and ready to be able to start working on once this block is finished Smile

Bread making…..my journey

DSCF9022

My latest attempt at baking bread using the cloche my sister Anne bought me Smile the cloche made the top of the bread soooo crunchy! I sprinkled this one with sesame seeds before popping it in the oven and my next attempt will be with cheese and assorted herbs to mix it up a bit……maybe some rolls?? the list is endless, I think I’ve been bitten badly by the bread baking bug LOL Smile

FHF Ruler Swap….

DSCF9012

This parcel was waiting for me when I arrived home from work on Friday form Mel so I only had to endure one sleep before I could open it without too much temptation LOL….

DSCF9015

This is what I opened up yesterday after being a good girl and doing all my chores, the washing the dreaded grocery shopping etc…. and then I couldn’t take a photo till now as my camera decided to not work and I wanted a daylight photo to show of how utterly beautiful my swap items were….DUH! slaps forehead, after recharging it overnight I could finally take a photo of all my gorgeous goodies from my lovely partner Mel and finally do a blog post!

Mel certainly spoilt me with not one pouch but two, one for my 12” ruler and the smaller one for my rotary cutter and then to top it off she added a super cute bundle of matching fabric and a yummy tin of buttons!! Thanks you Mel you certainly brightened up my week and put a huge smile on my face Smile

If you want to see what everyone else received in this swap pop over to FHF swaps and have a look for yourself……I am as soon as I make myself another cuppa Smile

Cooking up a storm!

DSCF8999

When the cold weather hits I like nothing better than heading to my kitchen to try out some new to me recipes….the one above is a blueberry, lemon and pecan cake with a lemon/sugar drizzle spooned over it while still hot Smile

DSCF9003

Here it is sliced up ready to try out with a cuppa, anyone up for a slice or two with me???

DSCF8982

I’ve also been perfecting the art of bread making and this is my first attempt with making bread in a bread tin, it rose beautifully and tasted very yummy…..

DSCF8984

I also made another batch of chicken and leek pot pies using my new ramekins and I can see me using these quite a bit in my cooking future….. I’ve also been relaxing at night with my Scandinavian stitches and crochet projects ( two on the go at the moment )  I’ll try to do another post with pictures of how I’m progressing with all of them soon. I hope everyone is staying safe and warm with all this chilly weather we’ve been experiencing Smile
